Colors & Patterns

Ragdolls are special cats for special people.

The colors define the color of the points and
the patterns that they come in. The points, referring to the ears, mask, paws, legs, and tail, is the color of the Ragdoll cat. The patterns, referring to the arrangement of the Ragdoll cat’s markings.

Ragdoll kittens are born completely white. Their colors and patterns don’t start to show until about 10 days old. The Ragdolls’ color and pattern will continue to get darker and more defined the older they get which may take several years. Traditional Ragdoll kittens and cats always have blue eyes.

Colors:

Seal Point
Points are black.
The color of the body is deep brown to fawn.
The pigment on the nose and paw pads is black.

Blue Point
Points are dark bluish gray.
The color of the body is light bluish gray.
The pigment on the nose and paw pads is dark bluish gray.

Chocolate Point
Points are deep brown.
The color of the body is light brown.
The pigment on the nose and paw pads is light to deep cinnamon.

Lilac Point
Points are frosty bluish gray almost appearing to be light purple or lavender.
The color of the body is white.
The pigment on the nose and paw pads is light lavender pink.

Flame Point
Points are red appearing to look like orange flame.
The color of the body is a creamy peach to white.
The pigment on the nose and paw pads is light pink.

Cream Point
Points are a very light buff cream to very light peach cream.
The color of the body is a creamy peach to white.
The pigment on the nose and paw pads is light pink.

Solid White

A relatively new Ragdoll Color.

Color of the body is solid white.

Points are solid white.

The pigment on the nose and paw pads is light pink.

Patterns:

Bi-Color
Has an inverted “V” in their mask which is white on the inside of the inverted “V”.
The points, which includes the outside of the inverted “V”, ears, and tail are any of the above colors. The color of the body corresponds to the same body color
scheme as the color of the points. The ruff, feet, legs, and stomach are white.
The pigment on the nose and paw pads is a light pink.

Mitted
Points are any of the above colors ECXEPT the paws. Paws on front have white mittens. Back legs and back paws have white boots. The color of the body corresponds to the same body color scheme as the color of the points. The ruff and stomach is white. The pigment on the nose and paw pads is light pink.

Tortie
The tortie pattern overlays any of the patterns, and may be any of the above colors mixed with red or cream. The body color corresponds to the same color of the cat mixed with red or cream in almost like “spot “patterns.
The pigment on the nose and paw pads corresponds to the color and pattern of the Ragdoll.

Lynx
The lynx pattern overlays any one of the above patterns, and may be any of the above colors. The lynx pattern is striping on the points and typically the whole body. The color of the body corresponds to the same body color scheme as the color of the Ragdoll. The pigment on the nose and paw pads corresponds to the color and pattern of the Ragdoll.
